Idda Arkad Massawe

I was selling local Chaga tribe beer and now I have a good grocery shop where I sell approved beer and soft drinks. I am based in Mkuu, Rombo, Kilimanjaro region.

I joined YEP Tanzania training while I was selling local beer known as Mbege special beer from Chaga tribe in Kilimanjaro. During the entrepreneurship training I was committed to attend the class daily in order to get the business knowledge to help me to change the business from local to professional. YEP Tanzania believed in me so they provided the start up capital after completing the training.

With that capital I paid the rent of my shop, I bought equipment (chairs, tables and fridge) and stock (beer, soda). Now I have a daily sales of 80,000 Tzs up to 150,000 Tzs. I buy new stock every 5 days.

I am married and blessed to have three children, two boys and one baby girl. My family supports me, my husband works close with me so we run the business in good order as planned in the business plan I made together with YEP Tanzania.

I keep business records very well as I learned during the YEP training.
